Description
My old advanced Maths course needed cover pages for the different topics we were going to cover in a book for personal purposes. I created three different cover pages for the topics “Analysis”, “Linear Algebra” and “Stochastics”. The goal was to have a set of cover pages that were visually appealing and contained the topic in a way that it was recognizable for the viewer. Additionally, the viewer should be able to distinguish the different topics simply by looking at the cover pages.
Since it was a German course, every topic and motivational slogan is written in German. The book was designed to prepare ourselves for the final exams in the German school system.
The first cover page featured the topic “Linear Algebra” with the slogan “The advanced Maths course on its way to the Abitur”. The entire cover page was meant to illustrate an example of a real life situation where linear algebra is used. This was specifically designed to make the topic more relatable for the viewer.
The second cover page featured the topic “Analysis” with the slogan “We once fell, but now we’re rising!”. The cover page was meant to illustrate a mathematical function that is generally rising. This was specifically designed to motivate the viewer, especially since the course was demotivated after a bad test result.
The third cover page featured the topic “Stochastics” with the slogan “The chance for a successful Abitur is 100\%”. The cover specifically featured a wheel of fortune to illustrate an example of stochastics. This was specifically designed to make the topic more relatable for the viewer and to encourage them since stochastics was the least liked topic in the course.
